I got totally hooked with the dark blue-silver combo, so I fired up my torch and made a bunch of these beads. It is interesting to see how different each lampwork bead turned out depending on how much silver foil and clear encasing was applied. I am planning to make a set (bracelet and earrings) using these beauties.

I have started to experiment with a totally new material; I made a couple of macrame bracelets using shiny silk thread. I think the satin finish of these threads beautifully complements my lampwork beads; here is the first bunch I made.

I have wanted to try this a long time ago and finally got to it :) The bead is made of transparent dark blue Moretti glass rods, decorated with fine silver, and encased with clear glass. I love the shades of ivory and turquoise that are the result of the chemical reaction between the glass and the silver foil; this lampwork bead reminds me of sweet summer nights, with millions of stars sparkling above us.

I got so excited about the popularity of my first lampwork and macrame bracelet that I couldn't help but made a couple of more. Some can be purchased already in my online store. I am planning to try a more unisex version; pictures coming soon... boltocskámba. Dolgozom egy uniszex- vagy férfi változaton is, képek hamarosan...

A long time ago macrame was very fancy amongst my friends and myself; we would make bracelets, belts and all sorts of items using natural hemp string. Then somehow I forgot all about this technique; until recently, when I realized that macrame and natural string is again becoming very popular. Although I usually combine my lampwork beads with sterling silver components, I thought I would give it a try and make a simple macrame wristlet using one of my beads. Here is how it turned out.

I made a couple of "girlish" beads, using soft pastels like light turquoise and periwinkle, some of my favourite colours. With the half-raised, stacked dots they turned out like over-decorated cupcakes, that's where their name (Rococo) comes from :) I combined the lampwork beads with sterling silver components to make these cheerful lil' earrings.

I've been playing around a bit :) Ladies and Gentlemen, let me introduce to you my latest little creature; Ottilia, the Octopus. Well, she only got 6 legs, but never mind; for the next one I will try to squeeze in two extra limbs. The base lampwork bead was made using fine silver foil and green filigrana glass stringer to create a sea-like background; to make the pendant, I used sterling silver components as usual.

Yet another Safari-themed bracelet to match the necklace I posted here a few weeks ago. The piece is made of my own lampwork beads combined with sterling silver components, wooden beads and faceted crystals. My favourite element is of course the little elephant charm :)

At last from home again! I was kinda homesick in the last couple of weeks, so it feels great to be in Hungary again; meet with friends and family, catch up with the news and get lazy in the summer heat. Well, lazy doesn't exactly mean movelessness, as I already started melting glass again; these are from the first bunch I made since I got home. Nothing special, silvered-ivory decotation on ivory base...I think I will make an earthy, stone-inspired bracelet and a pair of earrings with these.
